Dream Costume Designs specializes in making beautiful costumes for fans of movies, theatre, fairy tales, and more.  Our goal is inspire the world of dress-up by selling extremely high quality costumes for avid collectors and enthusiasts that are otherwise not available for purchase in current market place.  As artists, it is necessary for us to respect the work of other artists and companies in relation to their characters, licenses, trademarks, and copyrights.

All costume creations are deemed as derivative work.  Inspiration is drawn from the original characters whether historical, in tall tales or fairy tales, books, media, film, etc. and then take a life of their own in our design studio.  Each piece is drafted, patterned, embellished, and created with original design elements, cuts, and styles.

If the costume you wish to have created has restrictions or copyrights, please understand that we must respect these guidelines in making your costume.

Please also realize that a great deal of creativity goes into making costumes.  A lot is built on interpretation and the materials available.  If you are the kind of customer who wants everything down to the detail discussed and decided upon then you must let us know that no creative decisions are to be made without you.  As well, if you wish us to make the best interpretation of the picture or sketch you provide us - let us know. 99% of our customer's are happy in giving us the creative freedom to create their costumes with just the basics like shape and color.  As for the other 1%, we check in with them every step of the way to make sure they get exactly what they want.  This way we keep 100% of our customers happy!

When coming to us to make a custom piece, have an idea of what you want created.  Although we can definately create designs from scratch, it is better to have an idea of at least the elements before we book the project.  We unfortunately no longer do free sketches for potential clients as our sketches are proprietary.  Therefore we only do design sketches after a project is booked and a deposit is put down.  Due to the volume of requests, we sometimes cannot accept all pieces - especially if you come to us at the last moment.  We are frequently booked two solid months in advance during normal seasons, and 4 months on Halloween seasons.  Therefore please allow a minimum of 3-4 months before your need by date.  We can sometimes accomodate sooner time frames, but you will need to contact us to find out for sure.
